Food Packaging Samples: What to Test Before Approval
Samples should be checked with real food, not only by appearance.
Check fit and closure
Make sure lids, locks, tabs and folds work as expected. A small fit problem can become expensive in bulk use.
Test heat and oil
Use the intended food temperature and holding time. Look at the bottom, corners and seams after testing.
Review packing details
Sample approval should also cover carton marks, inner packing and any label requirements if these matter for your warehouse.
